Frequently asked questions

How do I store and care for my handmade soap?

For a longer-lasting bar, store your soap out of water and let it dry completely between each use. Some of the soaps are made with soft oils, like almond oil, that if left sitting in water, will simply appear to melt away. They will last as long as a salt bar if you prevent them from sitting in a puddle!

To store your soap, remove the cellophane packaging completely or slice a corner off to allow the soap to "breathe". This will allow the soap to continually dry out and really improves the bar.

Essential Oils Vs. Fragrance Oils

Simply, essential oils come from living things that grow and their scent is extracted using various methods. Not all plants or organic materials can produce an essential oil, but there are too many to list here that can. The scent is super-concentrated often times it takes many plants or petals to create a single drop of essential oil!

Fragrance oils are not produced by plants found in nature. Where they may contain essential oils, they also contain sythetic scent and chemicals added to comprise a certain aroma.
